Don't get me wrong - I enjoy my job immensely...love what I do....but always in the background is the fact that we are getting married next year...yikes!! The venue and date have been booked - so don't get me wrong - thats not the problem. The problem is this - who do you get to photograph your wedding when most of the guests coming ARE photographers???? My pet hate is being invited to a wedding then being told "oooh - can you bring your camera?" - it's like telling a guest to come to the wedding but to put an apron on and serve the guests...the cheek! So we've told our guests don't bother with the camera and enjoy yourselves - which leaves us in a bit of a pickle of who to use as a photographer...poor sod who takes the job as he'll be openly critiqued by our photography mates! So far I've found two candidates, Karl Bratby:

I love the fact he seems to capture "moments" without them being cheesy and glossed over. Alot of the photographers I've seen so far seem to "soften" the edges too much - which is so past the 1980s!
The other is Martin Oliver:

He's another great photographer who seems to "capture" those all important moment. Saw him at a talk in Birmingham...bumped into him at Crufts - he probably thinks I'm stalking him - but funnily enough my fiance found him and showed me his wedding website...very strangely weird! But like his style...
Hey ho - better get on with the job in hand today - babies, babies, babies......(erm photographing...not baby on the brain!)
